Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Commercial Business Solutions (CBS) team is the solutions partner driving results by challenging the status quo, strategic problem solving and exceptional execution. CBS works with functional business areas and IT to prioritize, develop, test and implement technology and process improvement solutions. The primary purpose of this position is to support multiple business areas, Project Managers and the Finance organization with funding requests, monthly accounting activities for Projects and Agile Delivery Teams. This role will perform various accounting tasks as well as manage and implement process improvements related to monthly processes.

Primary Duties And Accountabilities

  • Maintain relationships with business and IT partners to build influence and secure buy-in for governance functions.
  • Maintain and enhance engagement with business, IT partners and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare the monthly financial reporting packages, including analysis of current actual results to prior period actual results for use in internal and external reporting.
  • Assists in the accounting, analysis and budgeting of various accounts in coordination with FP&A and Functional Business areas.
  • Record and report financial transactions, reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and control requirements.
  • Maintain and identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and processes.
  • Work closely with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities. May participate in planning processes at project and departmental level.
  • Consult with Business and IT teams for funding requests and cost/benefit models.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Mentor, coach, and train more junior/less experienced team members to raise overall team capabilities.
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in business, engineering, mathematics with demonstrated success in finance
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics, and financial statement relationships.
  • Understanding of Business Operations and Industry practices.
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Thorough computer-base analytical skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated Power BI report development experience
  • CPA
  • PMP Certification
