Senior Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the product roadmap
  • Serve as the conduit between the user community and the software development team, representing the stakeholder and customer needs for a given feature or product
  • Analyze and translate business and user requirements into high-level features and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Work with product owner to break down and prioritize delivery of product features by maintaining the product backlog and user stories
  • Prepare for and facilitate meetings to gather/clarify requirements, formulate design approaches, and confirm business needs met while providing clear follow-up steps
  • Translate concepts into visual models including: scope diagrams, context diagrams, process flows, user story maps, decision tables, and state diagrams
  • Perform and conduct acceptance testing for user stories and features
  • Participate in project, development and deployment planning, support deployment of code to production and pre-production environments
Senior Business Analyst - Job requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, MIS, or any related IT or Engineering field of study OR equivalent work experience
  • Active Top Secret and/or DOE Q SCI Clearance preferred
  • 7+ years Business Analysis experience with application modernization, COTS integration or greenfield projects
  • Comfortable and productive in working at client site and in a remote environment; must be able to commute to Downtown DC a few days a week, majority of work is remote. Times in each location vary based on meetings/testing/deployment
  • Effective preparation and facilitation of both virtual and in-person meetings
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent documentation and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to quickly integrate with team and client
  • Ability to communicate in a concise manner to both general and technical audiences
  • 7+ years of experience in eliciting requirements and translating them into effective user stories and acceptance criteria
  • 7+ years of experience translating concepts into visual models including: scope diagrams, context diagrams, process flows, user story maps, decision tables, and state diagrams
  • 7+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies and processes
  • Working knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, TFS or SharePoint

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with UX concepts and processes
  • Continuous learning mindset and desire to share analysis skills across team
  • Experience providing strategic direction for a product and facilitating discovery processes
  • Experience supporting the Intelligence Community and working in a classified environment

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
