Lead Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Our Lead BA will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements and/or functional specifications as needed, including the determination of system impact and software configuration.

They will also participate with customers and internal functions as appropriate throughout the development, testing, and implementation processes. Research and evaluate alternative approaches and recommend efficient and cost-effective solutions. They will also contribute to activities to improve quality and advance the overall analysis practice throughout the organization.

A strong desire to develop technical and business knowledge relative to the implementation of insurance processing will be needed in this role. Knowledge of any line of business is a must.

What Our Lead Business Analyst Will Do

  • Lead customer requirements gathering process for large and complex efforts
  • Develop, analyze and document requirements, including business, functional and nonfunctional
  • Develop customer-focused documentation for software solutions (e.g. Wireframes, Use Cases, business rules, etc.)
  • Perform and lead expert services with stakeholders or system integration partners on engagements
  • Plan, perform, and support testing efforts and including the coordination of User Acceptance Testing and training
  • Act as customer advisor and consultant
  • Lead and perform the estimation of work, system design and configuration activities
  • Assist business development team with pre-sales activities and RFPs
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert in more than one area
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members
  • Aide in the reinforcement of Business Analysis methodologies across the team

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Recommended 10 years experience with Commercial Property/Casualty Insurance
  • Recommended 10 years experience Commercial P&C experience with system and rating
  • Experience with SQL and other report writing tools to review and extract data
  • Extensive experience with software applications, including Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
  • Ability to travel to customer locations: up to 30%
