Business Analyst, SAP - Job Role & Responsibilities

The SAP Procure to Pay Business Analyst will provide oversight for the design, implementation, and support of all aspects of the Procure to Pay areas working with the system integrators and AMS partners. This role requires an in-depth configuration and business processes knowledge of Procurement, Accounts Payable, Production Planning, Logistics Execution, Material Master, subcontracting modules in SAP and must be expert in integrated processes and modules.

This hybrid position will be a combination of remote and onsite at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle, WA. Our hybrid work environment includes remote on Monday and Friday and in the Support Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable (FI-AP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM)) SAP configuration changes that may have multi-module points of integration
  • Collaborates and works with the Application Managed Services (AMS) team or other contractors on continuous improvements and other business initiatives
  • Acts as an SAP FI-AP functional expert, responsible for formulation and implementation of end to end Procure to Pay business process scope and objectives for the SAP S/4 HANA
  • Designs, supports, and troubleshoots complex interfaces that use IDocs, text files, and XML files
  • Provides second-level user support, and drives improved user productivity through development and implementation of improved business process and technology solutions
  • Develops and executes cross-system test plans and detailed test cases
  • Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed solutions and recommends modifications to processes and procedures for solving business problems
  • Responsible for working with other technology and business resources to provide solutions consistent with corporate strategic (technology) direction
  • Works closely on SAP projects and production support tasks with key business and technical personnel, identifying and implementing automated or manual procedures or configuration changes with focus on standards, process simplification and the value of integration

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of functional experience with SAP PTP, with knowledge of associated SAP Master Data and common tables
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Self-starter with an ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Strong business analysis and project management skills
  • Perform highly complex and demanding tasks dealing with analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of project assignments
  • Proactively contribute to the overall IT strategy via direct participation in tactical projects and specific user requirements
  • Define scope and requirements of new development to meet changing business needs
  • Provide knowledge-transfer to team members
  • Establish and manage project plans, keeping a disciplined view of scope, schedule, and budget
  • Provide guidance to business constituents in developing training plans and materials
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Travel up to 3 weeks at a time – up to 30% of year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL and ITSM process knowledge and experience
  • Full system lifecycle experience with preference for at least two (2) full lifecycle implementations of end-to-end PTP functionality, from purchase order through to FI-AP remittance processing
