Business Analyst, Payments - Job Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Business Analyst for EverCommerce Payment Solutions.

As a member of our engineering team, you will work alongside developers and quality assurance engineers to partner with stakeholders and drive product definition for API and SAAS solutions. You know how to break down high-level initiative and solution requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for execution by delivery teams. You will bridge the gap between product and the technical aspects of development. Being technically proficient, you will become an expert in our platform architecture and are naturally curious to know how everything works. Our ideal candidate is passionate about technology and creating solutions that simplify the lives of business partners, developers, and their customers.

EverCommerce Payment Solutions and our industry-leading payment gateway, PaySimple, is the leading provider of payment solutions for over 20,000 SMBs. Our APIs and SaaS products provide payment acceptance, billing automation, client management, ecommerce, mobile, and point-of-sale solutions tailored to the needs of service-based businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders to define, compose, and refine technical specification documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Communicate and document system flow, business rules, and overall solution design to stakeholders to gain alignment, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Develop and manage the backlog to support grooming, planning, prioritization, and implementation.
  • Serve as a technical product owner for multiple agile engineering teams and interact with them daily to create solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Perform user acceptance testing of completed development against defined acceptance criteria.
Business Analyst, Payments - Job requirements

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience with a proven track record of delivery, or related experience in software development and/or solution engineering
  • BA/BS in a technical or quantitative field
  • Product or development experience with SAAS, APIs, and mobile applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with engineers and their stakeholders
  • Experience writing technical specification documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Working knowledge of HTTP, RESTful services, and Services-Oriented Architecture
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Well organized and detail oriented

Nice to Haves:

  • Background in e-commerce applications
  • Working knowledge of .NET and database development using SQL Server
  • Experience with NoSQL document stores, such as MongoDB or CouchDB
  • Experience with search engines, such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch

The target base compensation for this position is $70,000 – $130,000 USD per year in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
