Business Analyst, Fraud Risk - Job Role & Responsibilities

This position will perform a lead role in the elicitation of business strategies and observed performance from across the Early Warning organization as it pertains to Fraud Risk. Teaming with senior technical and business leaders to gather, analyze and develop materials to communicate business strategy to inform and influence change across the organization and within participating financial institutions. Serve as a liaison between Technology, Operations, and other business lines to help execute processes across the end-to-end spectrum of fraud risk management while capturing in succinct and summarized manner of outcomes for distribution and governance with internal and external stakeholders. This position will be accountable in executing ongoing management of a compromised credential discipline to source, link and control the risk from exposed data.

Essential Functions

  • Manage communication and performance inputs throughout the lifecycle of development.
  • Research and document observed and projected performance and points of material changes for inclusion in communications and governance.
  • Ensure communication input requirements are well defined and easily understood by all stakeholders.
  • Confirm results meet the expectations of all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate business performance and solutions into easily understand output.
  • Work closely with IT, operations, product, and sales if necessary to ensure output is tailored to unique audiences and proficiencies.
  • Act as the liaison and facilitator of communications between IT, Operations, Product, and other operational and functional groups as relates to Fraud Risk.
  • Performs data analysis tasks, which include programming data transformations, interpreting results and investigating root causes to find answers to how fraud is committed with Early Warning’s flagship payment product, Zelle.
  • Execution of a discipline to identify exposed network credentials, social tokens, and payment information; categorize the risk of the same and apply appropriate risk treatments to those data elements.
  • Provides coaching to Business Analysts.
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
Business Analyst, Fraud Risk - Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operational Research or related field)
  • PMP certification desired.
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of related work experience (IT, banking, fraud prevention)
  • Minimum of 2 or more years as a Business Analyst
  • Effective oral, written, and inter-personal skills, as well as strong analytical skills.
  • SAS, Python, SQL or R programming training or experience.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Must be US Citizen or US National only.
  • Background and drug screen

  • Experience in both consumer and commercial banking applications
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
  • Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers.

Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $60,000 - $70,000.
