Business Analyst, Financial Analytics - Job Role & Responsibilities

Vimeo’s mission is to help every business and video professional grow their brand with video. Through our ever expanding suite of tools that allows everyone to create, manage, share, and sell video we have seen incredible growth and one thing we are most proud of is our community. Our 200 million members are everything from high-end video producers, metric-driven marketers, small business owners, agencies, enterprise teams and everyone in between. We are looking for an experienced financial analyst to support Vimeo’s FP&A efforts. The right person will have a strong analytical background with equal parts technical and communication skills. They will have previously worked in Finance Analytics with a focus on data-informed results.

What you'll do:

  • Drive and lead strategic, cross-functional initiatives in order to enable data standardization, increase data consumption and boost data-driven decision making.
  • Analyze financial data (such as cohort and retention analyses) and provide forecast support for our FP&A team.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain user-friendly and informative dashboards, reports, and presentations in order to enable day-to-day and strategic data-driven decision making.
  • Foster a relationship of trust and cooperation with the stakeholders, creating an atmosphere of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Business Analyst, Financial Analytics - Job requirements

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and solving business challenges.
  • A sense of ownership - capable of independently initiating and driving projects from beginning to end.
  • Best analytical mind in town - Proficient in interpreting complex datasets, extracting valuable insights for informed decision-making. Skilled in identifying patterns and translating business questions into effective analytical solutions. Demonstrates a problem-solving mindset and stays current with evolving data analysis methodologies.
  • Extensive SQL experience working with large datasets
    • Previous experience with Python and automation - preferred
    • Experience in documentation and version control via Github - preferred
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, keyboard shortcuts, etc.)
  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau or similar data visualization suites
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, Economics, Statistics or Computer Science) and 4+ years of experience in a data analytics role (preferably in a SaaS business.)
  • Comfortable communicating with senior executives
  • A team player who enjoys working cross functionally
  • You truly believe that "getting it right" is just as important as "getting it done"

Targeted Base Salary Range: $81,900 to $125,500

The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
