Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Hybrid in Redmond, WA or Colorado Springs, CO only

As a Business Analyst on our Operations team, you will play a critical role in articulating existing internal business processes and their gaps, gathering and documenting business requirements, facilitating project conversations with stakeholders and technical team members, and aligning solution design and build to documented requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be an expert on the processes the stakeholders you support execute in systems maintained and administered by the Operations team
  • Work closely with stakeholders and technical team members to understand and communicate the priorities of the business with respect to projects, business as usual, business processes, stakeholder management & other responsibilities
  • Gain an understanding of problems, including new features & requests the business has determined are priorities; transform those into documented requirements using various tools including lucid chart, confluence, google docs, etc.
  • Assist in re-engineering business and system processes, taking into account current state, desired future state, and exception-handling
  • Enable business velocity by promptly supporting questions, issues, and escalations from system users
  • Expertly execute business processes using the systems we build and maintain for the stakeholders you support
  • Define business and functional requirements, collaborate with technical resources to ensure technical designs and configuration aligns with requirements
  • Facilitate meetings across all stakeholders through all project phases
  • Participate in and/or lead efforts to develop and execute technical testing, training and related documentation
  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of open issues, and articulate these for technical resources and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers to describe and monitor project dependencies, risks, and their mitigations
  • Escalate issues and blockers to project managers
  • Monitor the health of our systems and quantify potential issues; advise managers and stakeholders of themes you see in how our systems support their users and suggest opportunities for improvement
  • Interface directly with frontline staff, managers, and leaders in the departments you support
  • Have a high awareness of the profound security ramifications of the nature of our business (specifically our PCI compliance requirements)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to partner and to collaborate with people at all levels - individual system administrators, developers, managers, and executives
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Prioritize work effectively
  • Continuously deliver against agile sprints and business-critical priorities
  • Act as an advocate to ensure overall system usability and adoption
  • Contribute to a fun and functioning Operations team
  • Be coachable and teachable
  • Experience managing stakeholders and projects is a nice-to-have

Education and Experience:

  • 2-4 years Business Analyst and/or project management experience in a business operations-focused role
  • 6-18 months experience with Salesforce.com in an administrator, tester, or support role
  • BA/BS in a field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
