About Farallon Capital

Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C.® is a global institutional asset management firm founded in 1986. We are headquartered in San Francisco and operate globally with offices in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and São Paulo. We invest across asset classes, seeking to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns through a process of bottom-up fundamental analysis that emphasizes capital preservation. While our investment philosophy remains consistent, its execution is flexible, allowing capital to shift among strategies, asset classes, and geographies based on prevailing opportunities.

Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

DTI: The Digital Transformation Initiative was established to respond to the urgency for developing digital operations. Digitization is a fundamental need in an age of increasing demands for transparency, customized reporting, increased regulatory disclosure, new investment strategies and funds, and curated transactional data, as well as increased pressures on employees navigating remote and hybrid work. To reach our full potential, we need to integrate the latest digital tools, data, and analytics into our business.

Position Overview

As a DTI Business Analyst (BA), you will spend time understanding the business pain points and desired user experiences. Working closely with the business, the technology team, and 3rd party vendors, you will design and implement new business solutions that require processes to be redefined and simplified, data flows to be rewired, and the orchestration of work between people and technology to be re-engineered. As a Product Manager/BA you are a strategic thinker with a curiosity for problem-solving, a passion for continuous improvement, and drive to increase collaboration and alignment. You must be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and problem solver.

You will report to the Head of DTI.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize new business value-driven solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, in partnership with business and technical delivery teams.
  • Gather business requirements across business teams via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, shadowing, use cases, and other methods. Writing detailed user stories and writing requirements.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Support an evolving business analysis practice, which will include standard approaches for documentation, managing requirements through the life cycle of the project, and peer reviews.
  • Translate conceptual requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project teams. This may include detailed specifications to be produced.
  • Assist in conducting research on existing products to meet agreed-upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance of all implemented solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
  • Train users on new or enhanced applications and/or systems. Serves as point of contact or subject matter expert for the business on specific systems.
  • Create ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business decision-making based on data research.
