Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst (Power BI) to join our team and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our business analytics strategies, with a focus on leveraging the capabilities of Power BI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, provide insights, and drive actionable recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and enable informed decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of data analysis, business intelligence, programming, and development of Power BI reporting and a proven track record of success in implementing Power BI solutions. This role will report to the VP of Alternate Channels & Government Sales and will be an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

  • Create in-depth reporting using Power BI and provide guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and professional growth
  • Develop and execute the business analytics strategy, aligning it with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify business requirements, translate them into data analytics initiatives, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of actionable insights
  • Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of Power BI solutions, dashboards, and reports that effectively visualize and communicate complex data to diverse audiences
  • Oversee data integration, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in Power BI, and provide recommendations for enhancing the company's analytics capabilities
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and executive summaries to communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and partners to leverage their expertise and resources for analytics initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and impact of analytics initiatives, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Travel approximately 5% of the time to meet with stakeholders, attend conferences, and stay updated on industry trends and advancements
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Preferred : 5+ years of experience in business analytics, data analysis, or related roles, with a strong focus on Power BI
  • Strong expertise in designing, developing, and implementing Power BI reports, and solutions, including data modeling, visualization, and report development
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Senior Leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of business intelligence concepts, methodologies, and best practices
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques
  • Solid understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and ETL processes
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets, and knowledge of SQL, Python, or other relevant programming languages
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on driving data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data privacy and security.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time
