Business Analyst, Compensation - Job Role & Responsibilities

IDG is seeking an experienced Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the variable compensation team by developing models for plan calculations and future-focused forecasting and analysis. This individual will leverage strong analytical skills to ensure accurate calculation of payouts and projection of costs, contributing to the overall success of the variable compensation implementation program.

This role can be 100% remote for an approved US location.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain models to calculate variable compensation payouts for sales, research, and corporate teams.
  • Develop models to streamline administration processes, including reporting and pay statement generation.
  • Validate and analyze data to ensure accuracy and consistency in payout calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and input for model development and refinement.
  • Assist in the development of future-focused forecasting models to project variable compensation costs and analyze potential scenarios.
  • Provide support and expertise in Excel functionality and best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payout calculations.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives to streamline data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • Support future state automation and implementation activities.
Business Analyst, Compensation - Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and modeling techniques.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in data analysis and calculations.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo simulation modelling a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in compensation analysis or financial modeling is preferred.
