Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

Join the Advance Auto Part’s DIY Omnichannel team and start reimagining the future of online shopping in automotive retail. Disrupt the way consumers buy from and engage with auto-parts retailers and join a sophisticated marketing team to take on the industry’s biggest players in this $100B industry.  This Pricing Business Analyst will play a critical role in stabilizing our pricing platform by collaborating closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze solutions, address issues, and create comprehensive reports. Analyst will work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of pricing strategies and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document pricing requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Analyze pricing data and trends to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
  • Work closely with developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
  • Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of pricing strategies and system enhancements
  • Proactively identify and address issues or discrepancies within the pricing platform, providing timely resolutions
  • Generate regular reports and analyses to track pricing performance, profitability, and market trends
  • Conduct user training and support to ensure effective utilization of pricing tools and systems
  • Ensure clarity between business and IT to ensure that IT knows what needs to be built and the business agrees the solution meets the need
  • Work with IT Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and developers to translate business requirements into solutions that meet the needs
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in pricing analytics and business intelligence
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis across multiple functional areas. Retail Industry experience preferred.  eCommerce experience a plus.
  • Comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business and working within large, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience with enterprise commercial software implementations
  • Understanding of and experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience using JIRA / Confluence, SQL, Visio / LucidChart, Powerpoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in pricing domain
  • 1+ year experience with Blue Yonder PRICER
