Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

This position analyzes business process issues and/or problems and supplies aid to system users; conducts research on practical solutions and makes recommendations based on findings; develops proposals that outline feasibility and costs; suggests, designs, tests, implements, and evaluates solutions. Supporting both technical and non-technical solutions. A business analyst plays many roles, balancing several at the same time.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining trusted business relationships, driving the greatest possible business value from technology to meet the business needs and organizational goals
  • Documents system requirements by articulating technical requirements needed to achieve UI outcomes to meet customers definition of done
  • Document the planning, designing, development, and deployment of interfaces between new and legacy systems
  • Collaborate with business, developers, and corporate services to produce new systems, enhance current systems, and document business processes
  • Validate changes by developing test plans and performing test of systems
  • Focus on efficiencies, redundancies, and streamlining for continuous improvement
  • Capable of viewing systems and business processes from end to end
  • Optimization of user experiences
  • Generation of weekly / monthly reports
  • Perform data analysis to identify anomalies, trends, and areas for improvement
  • Function as Azure DevOps Product Owner with a complete understanding of work items, creating and maintaining work items, backlog management, tracking progress, managing requirements, communicating with project team and continuous improvement
  • 4-year college degree or 5+ years of work experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience with Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall project methodologies
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or System Analyst preferred
  • Insurance experience preferred

  • Confident, engaging communication style incorporating both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment at various stages of completion
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
What we offer at Skyward Specialty

The salary range for this role is $88,000 - $104,000/year. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales, or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
