Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

We at Diaconia are seeking an energetic and experienced individual to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment, a team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision. This individual will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service to both our internal and external customers. The successful candidate will have the right complement of relevant skillset, core values and professionalism.

Diaconia is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting our client's mission to safeguard public health and the environment by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and recommending solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient, and sustainable Salesforce solutions.
  • Customization and Configuration: Customize and configure Salesforce applications, objects, fields, workflows, process builder, and other declarative features to meet business needs.
  • Apex and Visualforce Development: Develop custom Apex code, triggers, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, and other programmatic solutions to extend Salesforce functionality.
  • Integration: Integrate Salesforce with external systems and third-party applications using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and other integration tools to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Data Management: Design and implement data models, data migration strategies, and data governance practices to maintain data integrity and quality within Salesforce orgs.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security controls, user permissions, and data access policies in accordance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Testing and Deployment: Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests to validate Salesforce solutions and ensure they meet quality standards prior to deployment.
  • Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and user guides, and conduct training sessions for end-users to facilitate knowledge transfer and adoption of Salesforce solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Salesforce best practices, new features, and industry trends, and identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and innovation within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, administrators, and stakeholders, to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Business Analyst - Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce development, with a strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, data model, security model, and best practices.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for U.S. Government client. No Exceptions!
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Required U.S. Government Public Trust and/or Secret Clearance.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development technologies, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, SOSL, REST/SOAP APIs, and Salesforce CLI.
  • Experience with Salesforce DX, version control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex requirements and design effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and initiatives is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Developer certification (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II) is required; additional certifications such as Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce App Builder are a plus.
