Business Analyst - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Cascades Team is looking for a Business Analyst III to join its FDIC Program. This is a fully remote position.

The Cascades Team supports the FDIC, GSA, IRS, Treasury, CFPB, FRB, and SEC accounts. By applying our experience and capabilities across all aspects of human-centered design and product development, our work helps execute leading customer experience strategies that deliver enhanced customer satisfaction for taxpayers and beneficiaries. We help improve their confidence and compliance in our financial and regulatory markets. Business Analyst III specialize in organizing complex content into easy-to-understand documentation that is written in plain language with their defined audience in mind. They are technically curious and able to learn technical terms and coding basics. Business Analyst III bring a human-centered design approach to their work, using data and user research to inform their choices. They work both independently and collaboratively with other members of the team, such as subject matter experts, designers, and developers.

Business Analyst III are growing their craft while delivering high-quality government digital services. They achieve this goal with mentorship from more senior practitioners while growing their skills beyond the expectations of this role.

The Business Analyst III is responsible for (Essential Functions):

  • Delivers content work such as terminology lists, API docs, developer tutorials, how-to-guides, competitive analysis, style guide contributions, and policy documentation.
  • Utilizes technical writing skills including plain language, inclusive content, clear writing, and content strategy.
  • Is proficient in UX process and craft skills. Tackles challenges that are somewhat defined and brings a learning mindset to their work.
  • Is learning about and executing on UX strategy for their team.
  • Able to work independently and perform tasks with support from colleagues.
  • Able to draft artifacts and presentations. Works with senior practitioners to develop appropriate deliverables for specific audiences; is working towards clear and compelling presentations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Generally supports 1 delivery team or senior practitioners.

Some Basic Requirements

  • All work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Some federal contracts require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future without sponsorship.
  • As a government contractor, you may be required to obtain a public trust security clearance.
  • Some of our available roles are on federal contracts that require a degree or additional years of experience as a substitute.
  • Our technical screening involves completing a homework assignment that is then graded blind to remove bias. We do not do tricky, unreliable whiteboarding tests. You can read more about our homework here.
