AVP Business Analyst, Transformation - Job Role & Responsibilities

The Technology & Transformation Office within State Street Global Advisors’ COO organization is seeking a Business Analyst that can help identify, action, and monitor impactful opportunities for change – those that will improve both the organization’s performance and employee engagement. This is a high-visibility role that offers exposure across multiple business units and whose outcomes are of critical importance at the most senior levels of the firm.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model (2-3 days per week working in the Stamford, CT office are required), where you can balance work from home and the office to match your needs and role requirements.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As a Transformation Office Business Analyst (AVP) you will continually improve the end-user and client experience

  • On a recurring basis, capture employee sentiment, sift thru feedback, and identify matters requiring improvement
  • Assess themes and translate into actionable initiatives
  • Recommend projects to initiate, socialize, and obtain business buy-in
  • Partner with CTO to validate IT improvements needed in the shared services space (PCs, monitors, mobile devices, etc.)
  • Drive and monitor project execution and escalate as needed. Note – Some projects (ex: employee transfers) may not be directly related to financial services / the investment process.
  • Communicate progress and ensure ultimate realization of intended business benefits
  • Help develop a multi-year enhancement roadmap (including a communication strategy) and ensure all active projects fit and support said vision
AVP Business Analyst, Transformation - Job requirements

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple organizations to develop holistic solutions and reach common goals
  • Comfort diving into and understanding processes and technology without pre-existing domain expertise
  • Ability to assess impacts (company-wide vs. user or department specific) and prioritize
  • Ability to influence / convince stakeholders and obtain buy-in
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) skills and experience engaging with C-suite executives
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Strong data analysis skills – Ability to use advanced filters and VLOOKUP function in Excel

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a process re-engineering capacity and familiarity with concepts such as DMAIC and Lean
  • Familiarity with and time spent utilizing Project Management principles and best practices
  • 5+ years’ experience in the investment management or financial services industry a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degrees are an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft suite – particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and / or SharePoint a plus as is experience administering surveys
