Senior Business Analyst, Finance - Job Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Finance Business Analyst with expertise in NetSuite to join our global Enterprise Applications team. As our Finance Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our financial processes, driving data-driven insights, and ensuring the efficient utilization of the capabilities of our finance system, NetSuite, and the integration with our professional services automation application, Kantata. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including our Enterprise Applications Group, central and business unit finance teams, and senior Lumanity leadership to identify business requirements, implement solutions, and continuously improve financial operations.

You will support process re-engineering, identify and deploy new business applications and integrations as necessary, as well as assist the Systems Administrator with upgrades and enhancements to existing applications. You will participate in due diligence assessments and integration planning for merger and acquisition projects regarding finance applications. You will work directly with business and finance leadership to identify, prioritize, develop, and implement application solutions to improve finance and business processes.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Business Process Analysis:

  • Partner with the finance team to provide technical solutions to identified business process improvements and enable the finance team to garner greater value from the systems.
  • Leverage your NetSuite expertise to enable the finance team to achieve their desired outcomes.

NetSuite Configuration and Customization:

  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge of NetSuite's financial modules to configure and customize the platform according to business needs.
  • Design and implement solutions for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and other relevant functions.
  • Support the Central Finance team to leverage NetSuite's reporting capabilities to provide financial reports and dashboards.

Financial Systems Integrations:

  • Collaborate with the NetSuite Systems Administrator and IT team to ensure seamless integration between NetSuite and other financial systems, such as banking and payroll platforms.

End-User Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they have a clear understanding of NetSuite's functionalities and are proficient in utilizing the system for their financial tasks.

  • Provide NetSuite product expertise to internal client groups; deliver presentations, demonstrations, and training.
    Requirements Gathering and Implementation:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather emerging business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for NetSuite configurations and customizations.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on system limitations and alternate solutions to achieve business objectives.

  • Maintain/update existing and create new workflows, process diagrams and gap analyses to document process and system needs.

Change Management:

  • Facilitate the adoption of new processes and system changes by effectively communicating with stakeholders, managing user expectations, and ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Evaluate solutions to address internal client requirements and develop recommendations.
  • Assists internal clients to create selection criteria and manages selection processes.
  • Develop complex business cases with cost, service, benefit, and ROI dimensions of proposed projects to be used at senior levels for funding, scope, and approval decisions.
  • Design and implement user-acceptance-testing programs for new or enhanced processes and systems.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on NetSuite's latest features and enhancements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and system optimizations and partner with internal stakeholders to determine how they can be used by the business to drive efficiency and value.
  • Regularly check with internal stakeholders that delivered projects met stated requirements.
Senior Business Analyst, Finance - Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent related financial experience. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Analyst or similar role including NetSuite specific expertise as well as current US and UK financial practices (IFRS vs US GAAP), tax law and statutory filing requirements, intercompany eliminations, accruals and prepayments, depreciation and amortisation, financial forecasting and producing appropriate financial reports.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite's financial modules, including but not limited to General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Multi-book and NSPB. Advanced skills in data analysis, Excel, and other relevant financial software/tools.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts and processes clearly and concisely with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with both vendors and business teams to interpret and determine impact of new features and functions of either new applications or enhancements to applications in use. Able to interact with business users and senior leadership. Knowledge of project planning and estimating tools, desired. Detail-oriented mindset with a strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

This position at times may require evening and weekend work.

Travel may be needed approximately ~5% of time. Travel will be both domestic and international.
