Business Analyst, Treasury Systems - Job Role & Responsibilities

As the business analyst, you will be the primary liaison between Gen II’s Treasury and Information Technology teams focusing on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of GEN II’s treasury management system (TMS). Key areas to include automating wire-based payments, integrating data from multiple banks, implementing interfaces between the TMS and Gen II’s accounting systems, and rolling out new functionality to the end-user community.

The role of the business analyst also includes end-user technical support and training as well as the maintenance, improvement, and integration of fund accounting platforms with the TMS. You will act as a partner to business operations teams to collect and document their needs on various initiatives, and you will participate in the technical development lifecycle of new solutions.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

Business analysis:

  • Leads the identification and documentation of business requirements for the integration between existing Gen II systems and the TMS.
  • Analyzes and challenges business requirements to implement new features in the existing TMS (Bank reconciliation, payments, bank statements…)
  • Works on the interface between the TMS and the banks to be integrated (Mapping, Data analysis, Testing…)
  • Identifies and helps to prioritize possible enhancements across existing systems.
  • Assesses the impact of proposed technical and operational changes on our core business (Private equity, Accounting, SWIFT Payments…)

Business support:

  • Become the in-house subject-matter-expert (SME) on system functionality and process workflows.
  • Provide guidance and support to business teams with new-client onboarding activities.
  • Assist client service teams with day-to-day requests and inquiries.

Project management:

  • Maintain detailed project plans and timelines covering all IT related project activities in partnership with Treasury management to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Take a leadership role in new projects supporting Treasury Management System, fund accounting platform, data migrations…
  • Manage a portfolio of active projects/tasks and be able to manage/communicate the daily progress.
  • Collaborate with the different project actors across the organization and at different levels.

Development:

  • Work closely with the IT development team to develop and maintain data interfaces between existing fund accounting platforms and the TMS.
  • Design any necessary new reports and features in accounting/reporting platforms.

Job Requirements, Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Masters/ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, IT or project management.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Understanding SWIFT messages (MT101, MT103, MT940.)
  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, investment management processes and related accounting rules.
  • Knowledge of a treasury management system.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, think independently, and handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Hazeltree Treasury Management platform is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Allvue, Sage Intacct, eFront or any other Fund Accounting platform.
  • Knowledge of Private Equity/Real Estate or corporate finance.
  • Knowledge of at least one coding language (Javascript, VBA…).
  • Experience/Knowledge of programming in SQL.

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
